Transportation of animals
Live animals are accepted for transportation at Mirny Airport in accordance with IATA Live Animal Regulations (LAR). Live animals are accepted for transportation upon prior agreement with the Airline. The Company may establish its own rules for transportation of animals, which do not contradict the state rules, as well as IATA Live Animal Regulations.
Only healthy animals capable of carrying the transportation to the final destination are accepted for transportation. Pregnant animals or animals that have given birth within the last 48 hours will not be accepted for transportation.
Live animals are accepted for transportation upon presentation of the following documents by the consignor:
- Shipper's application form;
- Shipper's certificate for shipment of live animals in two copies;
- A valid passport or health certificate of the animal;
- Import, export or transit permit (if applicable);
- CITES permit (for animals of rare (endangered) species (if applicable);
- An original copy of the animal's feeding instructions.
If the consignor plans an accompanying person when sending live animals, the accompanying person must have a certificate of qualification approved by the carrier or a state-approved education document for transportation of live animals.
Live animals are accepted for transportation in containers.
The size of the container must allow the animal to stand up to its full height and turn 360 degrees. The height of the cage must be equal to the height of the animal when standing, the width must be twice the width of the pet, and the length must be the length of the body plus half the length of the paw.
It is essential that the container be comfortable for the pet.
There must be space inside the shipment to secure water and food containers.
The shipper himself provides the animal with food. The feed must meet all the norms of the country where the animal is being imported or transited.
Animal products, meat or products containing meat are not allowed inside the container. Unknown animal feed will not be accepted.
The shipper or its agent is responsible for:
- Finalizing the route of animal transportation.
- Pre-booking the transportation. If more than one carrier is involved in the transportation process, reservations must be confirmed for all segments of the route.
- Obtaining and providing all necessary correct information to complete the "Certificate of Consignment", including determining the correct name of the animal; completing the Certificate of Consignment and "Check List";
- Providing the carrier with documents confirming the health status of the animal, as well as permits required by the national authorities of the countries of export, transit and import.
- Issuance of air waybill according to IATA "LAR" requirements;
- Ensuring transportation of animals in containers complying with IATA "LAR" requirements;
- Providing necessary nutrition for the animal in flight, as well as during its stay at the warehouse;
- Attaching water and feeding instructions to the animal container;
- Maintaining records of the administration of any medication to the animal;
- Complying with national regulations regarding animal welfare and for providing a 24-hour emergency contact number.
- Required labeling and signs on each animal container;
- Providing information on the special condition of the animal (newborn, pregnant);
- Informing the consignee of the time of arrival of the cargo.
Laboratory animals are not accepted for transportation on passenger flights.
